Assistant Professor Matt Zembo part of “History at Home” lecture series

Matthew Zembo, assistant professor in the Education and Social Sciences Department, will discuss “The 34th Regiment of Foot: A British Regiment in the Northern Frontier of the American War of Independence” as part of “History at Home,” a virtual lecture series offered through March by the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site.

According to The Amsterdam Recorder, Zembo will discuss how the regiment operated in a vastly different theater of war then those experienced in Europe, how civilians played a role, and what actions the soldiers engaged in during the fight to put down rebellion in New York.

His talk is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. The entire series is free to all via WebEx. The link for each program is live at 6:20 p.m. on the program day. No pre-registration is required.

Find the access link for Zembo’s talk and others in the series at the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site’s Facebook page, website or by contacting the visitor center: (518) 829-7516 or SchoharieCrossing@parks.ny.gov.
